The Palestinian Israeli conflict which is heating up again has also become Muhammadiyah’s concern. The Muhammadiyah Central Leadership on Wednesday, October 11 2023, released a statement regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Quoted from the official Muhammadiyah website, here are seven statements regarding PP Muhammadiyah’s stance on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

1. Very concerned about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

2. Urge the United Nations (UN) Security Council

take political and diplomatic steps by involving various related parties. It is prioritized for the UN Security Council to involve elements of Palestinian-Israeli society to stop the war. Carry out a ceasefire and conduct peaceful negotiations.

3. Call on Israel not to take advantage of this war to carry out annexation and aggression against the Palestinian territory and people.

As a result, peace in this tumultuous region can grow. All parties also need to participate in resolving the root of the problem and comply with and implement the UN Security Council Resolution as a solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

4. Ask the Indonesian government to be more proactive

strengthening the advanced steps that have been taken so far in resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other channels.

5. Encourage every party in Indonesia to respond to the Palestine-Israel war rationally, wisely, and not be provoked by various provocative, hoax and misleading information.

This is because information that does not match the facts can take advantage of this hot condition for certain political interests which have the potential to cause problems within the country.

6. Appeal to Muslims to offer prayers and unseen prayers for Muslims who are victims of war.

Apart from that, Muslims are also encouraged to ask Allah so that the war ends quickly and the world community lives in peace and prosperity.

7. Muhammadiyah always supports the Palestinian struggle and is ready to send aid and humanitarian volunteers.

Apart from that, Muhammadiyah will also actively coordinate and cooperate with various parties to help civilians who are victims of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, especially children and women.
