The goal of all A Safe Place staff members and volunteers is to provide excellent service to all of the people we serve as well as community members. The purpose of this policy and associated process is to protect the interests of people who use our services by providing a formal process to report concerns related to your interaction(s) with ASP staff members and/or volunteers. When an action or event appears to be of an inappropriate nature, considered to be misconduct, or otherwise jeopardizes the integrity of A Safe Place please follow the following guidelines for reporting.
Process:
A Safe Place encourages any service user or community member having concerns or grievances, to first address them with an A Safe Place staff member. Your first contact should be with the Executive Director of A Safe Place by calling 603-436-4619 to schedule an appointment to discuss your concerns. Your request will be handled immediately and an appointment made within 5 business days in most cases.
Upon hearing the grievance, the Executive Director will try to resolve the issue, but if the issue cannot be resolved to mutual satisfaction, you will be asked to put your concern in writing.
- Upon receiving the written grievance, the Executive Director will begin an investigation, which will include interviews with all appropriate parties alleged to be involved in the situation. In most situations, the investigation should not extend beyond a 30-day period.
- Upon receiving the written grievance, the Executive Director will notify the ASP Board of Directors to apprise them of situation.
- Upon completion of the investigation, the Executive Director will meet with the client or community member to discuss the outcome of the investigation and put closure to the incident. If the Executive Director is unable to resolve the issue to the satisfaction of the grievant, then the grievant will be advised of his/her rights to take their written concerns to the Board of Directors.
